Performance Ermelo 1988
Attentive, honest with good humor, friendly and obedient. The stallion is often tense. He was green at the start of the test. During the first weeks he was stiff, this improved in time. Once in a while he sticks out his tongue. The walk is not very elastic but regular and sufficient in scope. The trot is regular. He claws a little too much in the trot, but this decreased during the last few weeks. The canter has tact and power but not much scope. He shows sufficient power in jumping and little use of the back, he likes to jump from speed and does not finish the jump well. He does not have a good cross-country gallop. He is very wiling to work, he really likes to go and the work is easy for him. He has sufficient talent for dressage, jumping and cross-country. He was in good condition upon arrival and remained that way. He ate normally. Stall behavior is calm.
On 5/09 he had a sore back. From the blood test it appeared that he did not have a higher count of muscle enzymes. He received physical therapy and a few days of specialized work.

Offspring 1990 (foals)
This stallion showed a collection of well-developed foals that - with a few exceptions among the picked foals - have a riding type build. The head is long and moderately formed. The selected foals had a more appealing head. The neck has sufficient length but sometimes is a little deep from the chest and could also be better connected to the shoulder. The shape, the set and especially the direction of the neck were clearly better among the selected foals. The long wither is sufficiently developed. The shoulder most always has sufficient length. The selected foals always had good placement but the picked foals could be better. The back is strong, the loins are also strong and well connected. The croup is generally a little short and rounded. The foreleg is correct and sufficiently developed. The hindleg is correct. The walk is good, big, easy and full of tact. In the trot the difference between the two groups is apparent. The picked foals hurry a bit and they are on the forehand with a hindquarter that comes underneath moderately. The selected foals show better rise in the front, more power and balance, while a few foals showed a very good trot. The stallion had remarkably good mares, a few of national quality. There were seven cases where one forefoot was smaller and straighter than the other. The report on one picked foal that was inspected at home was good.

In short: well developed, riding type foals that walk very well. In the trot there is a difference between the picked and the selected foals.
