International congress on the future of the dressage horse

During the KWPN Stallion Show, the future of the dressage horse will take center stage on Thursday evening, January 29. In the Hertogzaal of the Brabanthallen, KWPN will host an international congress where breeding and sport come together under the theme “Shaping the future of dressage – where breeding meets performance.” The congress offers an inspiring and in-depth platform for breeders, riders, and all those involved in the dressage sport.

Under the Norwegian rider Oda Charlotte Lyngvaer, the KSS stallion Leonardo Da Vinci J.P.P. (K.I. From Friday 9 January through Monday 12 January, bidding will be open on the new collection of the KWPN Online Stallion Auction. The collection features thirteen dressage stallions and two showjumping stallions born in 2023, sired by leading stallions such as Bloomberg, McLaren, Sezuan and Chacoon Blue. Unlike previous years, parking tickets for the 2026 KWPN Stallion Show are not available via the KWPN Ticketshop, but can be purchased exclusively through the Brabanthallen. Visitors are advised to buy their parking ticket online in advance.

Eleven Harness Horse Stallions referred to ’s-Hertogenbosch

​The Dutch export company Horses2fly recently organized the journey of the promising KWPN foal Vrolijke Noot (s.Le Formidable) to the United States. Last summer, this young talent was crowned champion of the dressage foals at the Central Inspection of KWPN Region North Holland. His international future quickly became clear, he was sold to a buyer in the U.S. even before the online KWPN Foal Auction began.

Under the saddle of Dinja van Liere, one of the top horses from the 2020 KWPN Select Sale is currently developing toward top-level sport. After three successful World Championships for Young Dressage Horses, Mauro Turfhorst (by Zonik) also showed his best side last summer in the Small Tour. This year, the stallion was acquired by the N.O.P. Foundation and now carries the suffix N.O.P.T.

​With the end of the year approaching, the Horse of the Year 2025 election is also nearing its conclusion. Voting for the nominated dressage and showjumping horses is open until Wednesday, December 31, 2025.

Fifth Gelder stallion invited to the KWPN Stallion Show

​This afternoon in Ermelo, not only the dressage stallions were evaluated during the re-inspection, but also one Gelder stallion. This son of O’Toto van de Wimphof brings the total number of Gelder stallions selected for the second round viewing to five.

Re-inspection brings Total to 97 dressage stallions

A total of 97 dressage stallions have been invited to the KWPN Stallion Show, including 13 stallions that were selected today during the re-inspection of the first round viewing powered by AJ Bedrijfsdiensten. Several offspring of young stallions received the green light today.

​On Saturday, January 3, 2026, the first round viewing Harness horse stallions will take place in IJsselmuiden. The timetable and group allocation have now been finalized and are available online.
