Utinka S Second in Grand Prix of Ruila
Last Sunday, international show jumping teams competed at the CSIO2* in Ruila, Estonia. With a total of 34 faults, Belarus claim victory. The country's team included two KWPN horses: Rapide Umorkus (Royal Bravour out of Iamorka by Darnels, breeder: R.W. Bongers of Wijchen) under Ibragim Vaskov and Wacantos (Cantos out of Oellie prest by Kojak, breeder: A.E.J.M. Schellings of Ootmarsum) under Yahor Morotski. Vasil Ivanou (Lodonkor) and Maxim Kryna (Casimir 87) were the other team members. Estonia ended second with 40 faults, followed by Finland in third place with 44 faults.
In the Grand Prix on Saturday, victory was for Finland's Sebastian Numminen and his horse Contendo de Carma (s. Contendro). The 11-year-old KWPN mare Utinka S (Ocano S out of Katinka-S by Damiro, breeder: J. Sloof of Stolwijk) and Kätlin Sehver were the only other combination to keep a clean slate in the jump-off; however, their slightly slower time landed them in second place. Dutchman Peter Geerink and his mount Winston 13 (Sydney out of Haira ster by Mytens xx, breeder: R. Striper of Sleen), who were one of the fastest duos in the basic course, ended in eighth place. The nine-year-old Cantos son Wacantos finished 12th under Yahor Morotski.
Among the young jumpers, the seven-year-old chestnut gelding A Brok (Balebeh out of Olensa keur by Jacorde, breeder: G.J. Brok of Enter) won Friday's two-phase 1.25m with Katrin Pill in the saddle. Third place was for Bailey’s K (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve out of Tevola by Voltaire, breeder: G.J. Knoef of Vorden) with Lithuania's Andrius Petrovas. On Saturday, the combination won the 1.30m against the clock. A Brok (s. Balebeh) ended third in the class.
