Odermus R Son Uptown Boy Third in Arezzo Grand Prix
In Arezzo, Italy, Janika Sprunger and her seasoned horse Uptown Boy (s.Odermus R) clinched third place in the Gold Tour (1.50m) Grand Prix, thanks to two clear rounds. In the Silver Tour (1.45m) Grand Prix, third place was for Boy Adrian van Gelderen with Be Cool (s.Vanoverbeek). Natalia Belova and Cosimo 48 (s.Chello I) bested their competition in the Gold Tour Grand Prix.
The duo was almost three seconds faster than Janika Sprunger with Uptown Boy (Odermus R out of Bulisina prest s.Joost, breeder: A.L. Regeling of Dedemsvaart). Riding his ten-year-old World Championship horse, Johnny Boy (Johnny Boy II out of M.Elmi keur s.Silvio I, breeder: S.J. Kat BV of Egmond aan den Hoef), Santiago Lambre posted a fault in the jump-off to end in seventh place, while Giovanni Lucchetti with Bella Strade sport-jump (Lord Z out of Jastrade prest s.Damiro, breeder: G.J. Vehof of Ambt Delden) ended 11th with two faults in the jump-off.
In Saturday's Grand Prix qualifier (1.50m two phases), Emanuele Massimiliano Bianchi secured second place aboard Zycalin W elite sport-jump (Berlin out of Chiara W elite sport-jump s.Carthago, breeder: A.P. de Wit of Reuver), trained by Patrick Lemmen. In the qualifier (1.45m against the clock) on Friday, third place was for Jürgen Krackow with Ailonka sport-jump (Tampa out of Jilonka M s.Ahorn, breeder: B. Derksen of Steeneren). Giovanni Lucchetti and the Lord Z daughter Bella Strade ended eighth. In Sunday's 1.40m, Jelmer Hoekstra was second aboard Anna prok sport-jump (Quidam de Revel out of Toy H sport-jump s.Baloubet du Rouet, breeder: P.H. van Hees of Uden). In the Silver Tour (1.45m) Grand Prix, the best performance was delivered by Emanuele Gaudiano with Caspar 232 (s.Berlin). Boy Adrian van Gelderen with Be Cool (Vanoverbeek out of Valencia van de Wolfsakker s.U2 van de Mespel, breeder: J. van Rijswijk of Boskoop) also stayed double clear to finish in third place. With the same result, Charlotte Verhagen with Abache HL (2nd round view. prok, Cantos out of Tremske keur pref s.Lux, breeder: HBC Stal of Boijl) and Michel Hendrix with Baileys (Indoctro out of Ottawa ster prok prest s.Come On, breeder: J. Uittenbosch of Heel) finished fourth and fifth respectively.
In the jump-off, Nicole Holman picked up a fault aboard VDL Titanic (Neckar out of Jamina ster pref s.Lord, breeder: VDL Stud of Bears) to end in sixth place. With one fault for exceeding time, tenth place was for Jürgen Krackow with Webster (Hors la Loi II out of Olinn elite prest s.Lux, breeder: J.A.J. Hoppenbrouwers of Wintelre). Hanna Klensmeden acquired two faults with Selano (Corland out of Isidoor s.Bentley, breeder: W.H. Ton of Nunspeet) to finish twelfth. Friday's 1.35m resulted in second place for Emanuele Massimiliano Bianchi with Roadster elite EPTM-jump sport-jump (stb.name Wimara, Cantos out of Kimara ster s.Rossini, breeder: Stoeterij Zandvliet of Wekerom). The following day, Kirsten Rikkert claimed victory in the Gold & Silver Tour Derby (1.35m) with Sorrento (Kingston out of Nilivia s.Faram, breeder: J.H. Scherphof of Nieuw-Weerdinge), while Jelmer Hoekstra finished third aboard Bienvenu (Numero Uno out of Vabien la Loi s.Hors la Loi II, breeder: R. Blommestein of Assendelft).
