Selection KWPN Team WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy
The WBFSH and Tops Equestrian Events initiated a new studbook competition this year. A concept in which studbooks select their own teams that battle against each other. The studbook competition is held at the Longines Tops International Arena in Valkenswaard from September 28 through October 1. The KWPN selection committee will assemble the KWPN team.
The WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy is an exclusive opportunity for studbooks to put themselves, their breeders and their horses in the spotlight and shall include the age category of five to eight years of age and a stallion competition for 8- and 9-year-old stallions.
Participation
Horses that have reached an age of five, six, seven or eight years in the year of the championship and have been registered at the KWPN may participate in the selection procedure. Additionally, eight- and nine-year-old KWPN-approved stallions, that were registered (as a foal) at the KWPN can be selected.
Selection
The selection committee is comprised of experts on young jumper horses, such as jury members and trainers. The main objective is that, based on the selection moment, the strongest possible team per age category is selected to represent the KWPN at the WBFSH Studbooks Jumping Global Champions Trophy. Participation in the 2023 selections is possible through the KWPN Championship Young Jumper Horses in Exloo (14-17 August). This applies to five-, six-, and seven-year-old horses. A horse located abroad can be selected based on submitted competition results. In case of eight-year-old horses and KWPN-approved stallions, competition results must be submitted to the KWPN. Based on these results, the selection committee determines which horses will be selected.
