With four foals each, Vivaldi sons Vitalis and One Million are the most represented sires at the National Foal Inspection for the Virbac Foal Cup, taking place on August 1 in Ermelo.

On Friday, August 1, the best mares, foals, and breeders will gather for Breeding Day during the KWPN Championships (July 30–August 2). The day kicks off at 8:00 a.m. with the selection round of the National Foal Inspection for dressage foals, and the final is scheduled for 2:20 p.m.

Leading Sires
With four foals each, the Small Tour stallion Vitalis and One Million - recently sold to Heidi Humphries of Zen Elite Equestrian Center - have the strongest presence in the race for the Virbac Foal Cup. Additionally, seven stallions each have three foals participating in the National Foal Inspection. These include champion stallion Le Formidable, Small Tour stallions McLaren and Barton VDL, and promising young sires Pjethro, Proud James, O’Toto van de Wimphof, and Rome USB.

Multiple Foals
Eight breeders have had two dressage foals selected for the National Foal Inspection for the Virbac Foal Cup. Brothers André and Martin van Norel from Wapenveld/Epe will attend with two foals, as well as Rieke Kolner and Jurjan Bloem from Pesse, and Edwin and Marieke Lammerse-van Veen of Stoeterij Fleurstables. The latter were named Breeders of the Year in North Holland this year. Other breeders with two selected foals include Kim van Bellen from Heerhugowaard, Daniël Mosterdijk and Kim Schmid of Quality Stables in Oud-Gastel, and Matthijs Maat from Doorn. Livi and Petra Verschueren from Hoek will bring two half-sisters, both bred out of the Small Tour mare Luna, to the KWPN Championships in Ermelo. Adri van Erp from Heesch completes the list, also with two selected foals.
