Vino Rosso-S.K. Crowned Foal Champion to Thunderous Applause
After already being crowned Foal Champion of the Friesland region, Vino Rosso-S.K. danced his way to the National Dressage Title in Ermelo amid loud cheers from the audience.
Just six weeks old, Vino Rosso-S.K. (by Rome USB) made a striking impression both during the morning selection round and again in the afternoon final. He was bred by R. van Schaijk-Koopmans from Nijega and is out of the ster mare Peaceful-S.K. (For Ferrero x Charmeur). His owner was clearly emotional: “Becoming champion in Harich was already amazing, but to win the national title surpasses everything. When does something like this ever happen?”
Viral van Hof Olympia
In the arena, judges Floor Dröge, Johan Hamminga, and Bart Bax evaluated the foals. Bart Bax explained the placement: “The winner is a strongly built colt with a lot of front and a well-muscled neck. He shows an active and ground-covering walk. In his light-footed trot, he displays great technique and balance. And he just kept going - that’s what set him apart from the second-placed foal, who showed slightly less movement in the final. That being said, the second-place foal is also of excellent quality. Viral van Hof Olympia is generously developed, long-lined, shows a lot of body use, and a very easy ability to switch gears.” Viral van Hof Olympia is a daughter of Real Dream out of the preferent ster mare Inatana van Hof Olympia (Apache x Silvano N). She was bred and is registered by the Van Venrooij-Mathijssen family from Oud Gastel.
Elegant Vichi H
Placing third out of eleven finalists was Vichi H, a daughter of McLaren out of the elite sport mare Kiki H (by Googel), bred and registered by top breeder M. Hanegraaf from Vinkel. Bart described her as: “A refined foal with a lot of expression and a beautiful front. In movement, she showed rhythm and suppleness, although compared to the first and second foals, she could maintain a slightly more uphill frame.”
