The KWPN-approved stallion Cognac vh Gebergte received the highest score in the final of the Van Santvoort Makelaars Cup, securing victory under Cristel Kalf. In the final, Hans Horn and Albert Zoer evaluated 28 four-year-olds. Several KWPN-approved stallions ranked high on the leaderboard.

Very Consistent
With a 9 for jumping and an 8.2 for movement between fences, Cognac vh Gebergte Z (Chacco-Blue out of Olympia JW van ’t Meulenhof by Diamant de Semilly, bred by Bob Janssens) impressed with his outstanding jumping style. Ridden by Cristel Kalf for American owners, this stallion—bred from the same damline as stars like Emerald van ’t Ruytershof and Diamanthina van ’t Ruytershof—already showed promise during last year’s performance test and has clearly developed well since. “This is a very interesting horse. He’s quick, has excellent jumping technique, and is very consistent,” explained Hans Horn.

Cristel Kalf has been riding in the Van Santvoort Makelaars Cup since last year. “He’s a real pleasure to ride! Everything comes naturally to him, and he’s so consistent. Cognac gives a fantastic feeling and jumps around the course effortlessly—even without shoes.”

Good technique
Roosminka (Aganix du Seigneur out of Daminka Z by Dominator Z), bred by Jeroen Verver and owned by Hendriks Sporthorses, jumped to second place under Esther Damman-Blekkink with scores of 8.6 and 8.5. “This mare was beautifully presented and jumps with good technique. Definitely one for the future.”

In third place was VDL Groep Rosalyn, a daughter of Emerald van ’t Ruytershof (out of Alexia by Air Jordan Z), bred by Stoeterij Duyselshof and ridden by Natalia Majchrowicz. This mare had already delivered strong performances this summer in the Stal Hendrix competition, and her final round earned an 8.2 for jumping.

The powerful KWPN-approved Rising Aranix (Aganix du Seigneur out of Lady D van ’t Roosakker by Echo van ’t Spieveld), bred by Rising Stud and ridden by Kristian Houwen, finished fourth.
