After winning both the semi-final and the first part of the final, Perfect Ritme did not disappoint under guest rider Simone Pearce either. The appealing, willing-to-work gelding received a 9.5 from the guest rider, sealing his title win.

Perfect Ritme (by Lord Europe out of D.Ritme elite pref prest sport-dres PROK by Negro, bred by A.G. Op ’t Hoog from Moergestel) traded his regular rider Kim Noordijk for Olympian Simone Pearce this afternoon. “I think this horse is absolutely fantastic,” she said enthusiastically. “Kim has done a great job with his training—he’s very relaxed but also has so much power. The walk could open up just a little more, but other than that he’s a super horse with loads of potential.”

Kim and Perfect Ritme qualified for the semi-final via the World Championship selection. They were also selected for the WC team, but had to withdraw due to Kim’s participation in the U25 European Championships. “This was definitely a great consolation prize,” she laughed. “This is amazing. This horse has a golden character and so much quality. Everything is going his way. I’ve had him under saddle since the beginning of this year, and I had a really good feeling about him right away.”

Grand Prix Trot
Second place went to Pjethro, a son of Kjento (out of Jaomie elite IBOP-dres D-OC by Desperado, bred by A.J. Beerens from De Moer), ridden by Charlotte Fry. He received an 8.5 from the guest rider. “A super nice horse who gives you the feeling in trot that he’s going to be a Grand Prix horse. He was very attentive and focused, just what you want from a young stallion in this environment. He was still a bit tense in the walk—that’s the only thing I would like to see improve.”

Lovely Horse
Fiji (by For Romance out of Happy-Times ZB ster by Charmeur, bred by Stal Zwaansbroek BV from Noordwijk) completed the top three under Kim Alting. This stallion received a 7.5 from the guest rider. “It’s hard to judge this horse today. The walk and canter were very nice, but in trot I would have liked to feel more power from the hindquarters. I think he’s a lovely horse, and it might have been that he was just a bit tired today, but I do have to take that into account.”
