Stallion Competition Kronenberg: Real Dream tops the new generation with the highest score of the day
The 2021 generation made its debut today at the first Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage in Ermelo. The four-year-old stallions did not disappoint, Real Dream even earned the highest score of the day. The Dynamic Dream son impressed under Charlotte Fry, achieving 92.8 points, including a 9.8 for his outstanding canter.
The youngest generation provided an exciting finale to the first competition of the season. Real Dream (s.Dynamic Dream out of Fivanny ster PROK by Negro, bred by Maatschap Pleyter from Zalk and H.A. van Triest from Elburg), a grandson of the famous Dolly, was the final starter and took over the lead under Charlotte Fry.
“A very attractive, appealing horse presented with great harmony,” said Domien Michiels, speaking on behalf of Brecht D’Hoore and Janine van Twist. “This horse maintained a lovely connection, moving uphill and nicely toward the hand. The walk is functional and active, though it could show a little more reach from the shoulder. In trot, the picture was very natural, self-carried and consistent. He could still develop a bit more power in the extensions. The highlight was the canter, showing excellent balance, good technique, and an active hind leg that always stepped well underneath. The canter is natural, uphill, and fluent through the transitions, with consistent contact and a pleasant frame.”
Well-walking Renzo
Stablemate Renzo (s.Kjento out of Aronia elite pref prest IBOP-dres PROK by Rousseau, bred by C.M.E. Reijrink from Diessen) offered strong competition, finishing close behind with 92.4 points. Presented by Zandra Birkeland, the stallion earned a 9.5 for his high-quality walk.
“This is a powerful horse presented in a natural and harmonious way. The walk flows beautifully through the body, showing plenty of overtrack and activity. He maintained a good frame toward the hand and remained pure in rhythm from the very first step. The trot is natural and light-footed with lots of suppleness and swing, maintaining good balance in the lateral work. In the extensions, he could push a bit more actively from behind. The canter is light-footed and consistent, though we’d like to see a touch more jump.”
Sympathetic Magic McKee L
The approved NRPS stallion Magic McKee L (s.Total McLaren out of N-Joy L by Negro, bred by L. Horses from Skanderborg, Denmark), ridden by Lina Uzunhasan, finished third with 86.4 points, including a 9 for walk.
“A striking horse with a nice front and plenty of energy. The test gave a very sympathetic picture, with a horse that clearly enjoys his work. The walk is ground-covering, active, and shows good freedom from the shoulder. In trot, he is light-footed but still needs to develop more power in the extensions. The lateral work was shown in good balance both ways. The canter has plenty of power, though he could use his body a bit more through the gait.”
