23 Jumper Stallions Selected on the Second Day
After 33 stallions were selected yesterday, 23 show jumper stallions received an invitation today for the second round viewing.
Today, sons of both proven and young stallions appeared at the first round viewing, powered by AJ Bedrijfsdiensten. Landino VDL was the only stallion with two sons selected.
“This morning started off well on the hard surface, but not all stallions impressed equally when jumping. In the afternoon it was actually the other way around: there were more remarks regarding conformation, such as weak pasterns and uneven feet. As a result, we still had to exclude a number of well-jumping stallions from advancing to the next round,” senior inspector Henk Dirksen explained on behalf of the stallion selection committee.
“After two days, the total now stands at 56, and we hope that a good number will be added tomorrow. We then expect sons from the first crop."
