The regular first round viewing, powered by AJ Bedrijfsdiensten, was concluded today with a positive feeling and 33 selected jumper stallions. The re-inspection will take place on 23 December.

Today, both sons of proven sires and young stallions were assessed during the first round viewing. Top sire Carrera VDL saw four sons advance to the KWPN Stallion Show, Emerald van ’t Ruytershof had his sixth son selected today, and Chacoon Blue now totals four.

The younger stallions Mattias, Meganus PS, New Pleasure VDL, Sambucci de Muze and Tattoo H&DB TN each had two sons advance to the second round viewing. “The committee looks back on the day with a very positive feeling. Yesterday there were a number of stallions that jumped in a forced manner, but today they were well assessable. It is great that we were also able to select talented sons from young stallions,” senior inspector Henk Dirksen said on behalf of the committee. “On the hard surface, only a few remarks had to be made, which also meant that we were able to select quite a number of stallions today. In total, the committee assessed 149 jumper stallions over the past three days, and 88 of them may advance to the KWPN Stallion Show. Today, Carrera VDL stood out positively with his blood-made, youthful sons, two of which also come from international 1.50m mares. Facts like that are not yet taken into account at this stage, but they will be in Den Bosch. There, the assessment on the hard surface here in Ermelo will again be included in the overall picture; it remains a valuable component, as the hard surface allows us to assess them well.”

Over the past three days there were not many withdrawals, but the number of stallions at the re-inspection may still be expanded.
