On Saturday, 3 January 2026, Manege De Deltaruiters in IJsselmuiden will host the first round viewing of the Harness horse stallions. A total of 36 three-year-old Harness horse stallions are on the starting list. Which sires will be represented by the highest number of sons this year?

The first round viewing marks the start of the stallion selection process. From here, the best stallions will be invited to the second round viewing, which will take place on Saturday, 31 January during the KWPN Stallion Show 2026 in ’s-Hertogenbosch.

Macho Leading Sire
Macho (Indiana out of Emone ster pref s.Unieko, breeder J. Arends from Garmerwolde) is this year’s clear leading sire. With seven sons, he tops the rankings. Magnifiek (Idol out of Helise keur s.Atleet, breeder H. Kruidhof) is also strongly represented with six sons, followed by Norking Apple (Icellie out of Iristeusi ster pref s.Eebert, breeder N. van Maaswal) with four sons. Icellie (Bocellie out of Petrose ster pref s.Fabricus, breeder J.R. Bosch) and Innovatief (Zepplin out of Bianca prest s.Heiring Out, breeder Hengstenhouderij Landzicht) each supply two sons. The remaining stallions are by various other sires.

Harness Horse Stallion Inspection IJsselmuiden
On Saturday, 3 January 2026, the arena of De Deltaruiters in IJsselmuiden will be entirely dedicated to the first round viewing of the Harness horse stallions. During this inspection, the new crop of three-year-old stallions will present themselves for the first time to the stallion selection committee. In addition, several approved Harness horse stallions will be presented, both in-hand and in harness. The public is very welcome in IJsselmuiden. Admission is €20, including the programme booklet and parking. Tickets are available exclusively at the venue and cannot be purchased in advance.
