The top three of the Anemone Horse Trucks Dressage Stallion Competition, L class, was the same today in IJsselmuiden as it was in Kronenberg. However, with only small margins separating a strong leading group, the battle is far from over. Ridden by Charlotte Fry, the Dynamic Dream son Real Dream once again claimed victory this evening with a score of 90.4 points.

The test of Real Dream (Dynamic Dream out of Fivanny ster PROK by Negro, bred by Maatschap Pleyter from Zalk and H.A. van Triest from Elburg) was full of highlights. The stallion received a 9.5 for the canter and a 9.2 for harmony. “A very pleasing test from a horse that is nicely in the contact and does his work with great ease,” summarized Brecht D’Hoore on behalf of the judging panel, which also included Hans Peter Minderhoud and Patrick Berends. “The walk shows very good rhythm with plenty of scope. At the start of the test, he could have remained just a fraction more active, but that improved towards the end. In the trot, he shows good technique; he could still develop a slightly more uphill tendency from the withers, but he is developing positively in the leg-yield. The canter is a real highlight, showing a lot of jump and already a high degree of collection for a four-and-a-half-year-old.”

Good walk
Charlotte Fry had another strong contender in the ring, scoring 90 points aboard the Kjento son Renzo (out of Aronia elite pref prest IBOP-dres PROK by Rousseau, bred by C.M.E. Reijrink from Diessen) to secure second place. “With this horse, the walk was a clear highlight. It is very pure, with a lot of use of the body. Notably, after a transition he immediately walks very well. The trot shows great suppleness and adjustability, although he could remain just a fraction more connected from the hind leg. In the canter, we saw a very nice uphill picture with plenty of adjustability. He may still gain a bit more strength, but we are talking about very young horses.”

Strong top three
Lina Uzunhasan and Magic McKee L (Total McLaren out of N-Joy L by Negro, bred by L. Horses from Skanderborg, DEN) finished third in the prize-giving ceremony. The combination scored 89.8 points, keeping the top three extremely close together. “An appealing horse with plenty of presence and three good gaits. The walk shows a lot of power from the hind leg, plenty of scope, and good use of the body. After a transition, this horse needs no time to resume a good walk. In trot, the stallion shows a great deal of balance, a nice front, and plenty of posture. The canter has a lot of power and energy; he could still bend a bit more in the hock, and he could remain just a touch straighter.”
