KSS stallion Leonardo Da Vinci J.P.P. on his way to the top
Under the Norwegian rider Oda Charlotte Lyngvaer, the KSS stallion Leonardo Da Vinci J.P.P. (K.I. Parrandero out of Holisca J.P.P. elite EPTM-spr PROK sport-spr by I’m Special de Muze) is currently making a positive impression in international show jumping. The now ten-year-old stallion jumped his first 5* 1.50m course last month in La Coruña, Spain.
Oda Charlotte Lyngvaer, who lives in the Netherlands, is based together with her partner Timothy Hendrix at the Stal Hendrix facility in Baarlo. There, in April last year, she started riding the stallion Leonardo Da Vinci J.P.P., who is partly owned in Poland. Initially, the Polish owner rode the horse himself, he bought the stallion as a three-years-old at the KWPN Select Sale. “For them, it was truly a family horse,” Lyngvaer explains, also noting that the Polish owner even started a TikTok account in the horse’s name, which is now followed by almost 20,000 people. “He is a very sweet stallion and in Poland he covered quite a lot of mares, so he has quite a few offspring there. As a breeding stallion he is therefore quite well known. When we compete there, he always gets a lot of attention from other riders for that reason.”
A real fighter
When Leonardo Da Vinci J.P.P. arrived at Lyngvaer’s stable last year, the stallion was competing at 1.30m level. “He picked that up very well and throughout the summer he jumped almost all his rounds clear.” The duo is now working hard toward the world top. “He is doing very well, but he is still quite green at this level. He is truly a fighter and he has plenty of power. He naturally has a lot of scope, jumps with ease, and with his great attitude I think he can come very far. On top of that, he is also a very handsome stallion to look at.”
Gaining routine
Gaining more routine is the main plan for Leonardo Da Vinci J.P.P. in the coming period. “He is super fit, but of course it is always difficult to say what the future will bring. He often travels as my second horse alongside my top horse Carabella Vd Neyen Z, for example this weekend to the World Cup competition in Basel, Switzerland. That way he can gain valuable experience. This is truly a horse that makes you happy every day.”
Milancinthe D.
KSS reference Milancinthe D. (Impressive VDL out of Heyacinthe VDL prok ster by Zavall VDL, breeder G.B. Quist) was also previously competed by Lyngvaer at 1.45m level. The Italian rider Giampiero Garofalo now rides him on behalf of Stal Hendrix. Lyngvaer rode Milancinthe from his sixth to his eighth year. “Milancinthe is a very careful horse, I was always very fond of him. He always wants to do his best for you. He could sometimes be a bit special, but he truly has a lot of quality.”
