During the KWPN Stallion Show 2026, the international dressage congress Shaping the Future of Dressage – Where Breeding Meets Performance is scheduled for Thursday evening, 29 January. At the Brabanthallen in ’s-Hertogenbosch, leading breeders and experts will engage in discussion with each other and with the audience about the future of the dressage horse.

Central to the congress are current questions within dressage breeding: what type of dressage horse will the future demand, which standards must it meet, and which breeding trends are decisive? Attention will also be given to the challenge of bringing commercial breeding and sport-oriented breeding goals closer together.

International speakers
British breeder Emma Blundell, founder of Mount St. John, will share her vision on modern dressage breeding and international market developments. Olympic champion Isabell Werth will address the topic from the perspective of elite sport. German breeder Christine Arns-Krogmann will also take part in the discussion. She is the owner of the legendary mare Weihegold, with whom Isabell Werth won the FEI Dressage World Cup three years in a row.

Interactive
Eugene Reesink, owner of Reesink Horses, will also join the panel. Reesink is an experienced horseman and successful in breeding and developing young, talented stallions. The speakers will share their insights and engage in discussion with each other and the audience about breeding, performance at the highest level, and the development of the dressage horse of the future. There will be ample opportunity for interaction.
