Last weekend, Jumping Amsterdam once again highlighted the quality of horses originating from the KWPN Select Sale. KSS reference Loeca N.D. made an impressive debut in the five-star Grand Prix with two clear rounds, while Leonardo Da Vinci J.P.P. also confirmed his potential at the very highest level. Olympic horse Flambeau once again delivered a top performance in the World Cup class. This week, attention shifts to the next generation as the KWPN Select Sale 2026 takes place during the KWPN Stallion Show.

The dressage collection consists of 25 stallions that impress with quality, presence and pedigree. Turner C, a son of My Blue Hors Santiano, comes from a dam line that traces back to Grand Prix stallion Krack C. Tamimt Tayri Taghbalt, a son of Osaka, also represents a proven dam line, with the NMK mare Poriana as the third generation, who is the granddam of double World Champion Kjento. Kjento himself is already producing talented offspring, including Ti Sento, bred from the ZZ-Licht classified mare Fieni and related to several international Grand Prix horses.

Olympic medal winners
The jumping collection also excels in quality and pedigree. Cinsault de Fer van ’t Studutch, by Chacco-Blue, descends from the renowned Sea Coast Ferly line, which includes Grand Prix mares such as Narcotique de Muze II and Qerly Chin. Duncan Z, a son of Don’t Touch Tiji Hero, has as his granddam the successful Gin Tonic van het Gerendal, who made a successful debut at 1.55m level last year at the age of nine under Armando Trapote. Pleasure van de Moervelden (by Pegase van ’t Ruytershog) goes back to the dam line of Olympic medal winner Sapphire and European Championship and WEG stallion Glasgow van ’t Merelsnest.

“A group of outstanding future sport horses”
Last year’s KWPN Select Sale was once again successful, with Scaramouche (by Glock’s Toto Jr.) topping the auction at €280,000, and Tycoon (by Taurus), sold for €110,000, now making a strong impression in the United States.
“We have once again put together a strong collection this year,” says dressage selector Rom Vermunt. “In addition to potential approved stallions, we have deliberately selected future sport horses as well. The collection is diverse in bloodlines, size and type.” According to jumping selector Sjaak van der Lei, the collection reflects the growing reputation of the auction: “Thanks to recent successes, we have been able to select an exceptionally strong group of jumping stallions. These are horses we would gladly buy ourselves.”

Live and online bidding
During the first inspection, the selection committee compiled a strong and diverse collection of dressage and jumping stallions. All stallions will appear in the arena again during the second inspection in ’s-Hertogenbosch. The jumping stallions will be auctioned on Thursday 29 January, followed by the dressage stallions on Saturday 31 January, both during the KWPN Stallion Show.
