On the first day of the KWPN Stallion Show, 32 jumping stallions were invited to the performance test, with five of them returning tomorrow for the championship inspection.

The stallion selection committee is very satisfied with the outcome of this opening day. “Overall, the stallions were easy to assess, there was a calm atmosphere in the chute, and they jumped the line with ease,” explained committee chairman Wout-Jan van der Schans.

Good quality
“The day got off to a positive start this morning and we were able to maintain a consistent standard throughout the day. Without making any concessions, we selected 32 stallions. We chose modern horses with a good canter, that jumped the line with ease and generally required little support. The stallions now enter through a different entrance, meaning they no longer have to pass directly behind the VIP stand. This created more calm in the arena, which always benefits the evaluation. A number of stallions jumped better in Ermelo than they did today, but for the majority the performance was comparable.” The stallions Feromas van Beek Z, Emerald van ’t Ruytershof, Don’t Touch Tiji Hero and Chacoon Blue each had two sons selected.
