This afternoon, six complete show jumping stallions returned for the presentation of the premium stallions and the championship inspection powered by Knegt. The Chacoon Blue son Crescendo van de Boxem Z was awarded the championship title.

The stallion inspection committee awarded premiums to six stallions, all of whom impressed both in Ermelo and in ’s-Hertogenbosch with their conformation, movement, jumping ability and pedigree.

Favourites
After four of the premium stallions were discussed individually, it became clear which two stallions would compete for the championship title. To loud applause, the highly athletic Chacoon Blue son Crescendo van de Boxem Z (out of Jorriena elite IBOP-spr D-OC by Elvis ter Putte, breeders Evelien Brandt and Han van Dijk from Broekland), owned by Thomas Schouten, Stefan van Veldhuizen and Joop Hoogveldt, entered the arena. The inspection committee shared the public’s enthusiasm and crowned Crescendo champion. The Carrera VDL son Ti Amo B (out of Madonna elite IBOP-spr sport-spr PROK D-OC by Apardi), bred by Ben Booijink from Luttenberg and owned by VDL Stud, was named reserve champion. Two Overijssel-bred stallions at the top. “Crescendo van de Boxem Z jumped very convincingly on both occasions, showing excellent front leg technique, great athletic ability and a lot of body use. The reserve champion Ti Amo B is also a real eye-catcher, combining a youthful model with a light-footed canter and very good jumping technique,” explained committee chairman Wout-Jan van der Schans.

Performance breeding
Also awarded a premium was Touch Especiale (Don’t Touch Tiji Hero out of Double Speciale ster PROK by Chacco-Blue), bred by Jack Verstappen and co-registered with Stal Hendrix, who stood out for his good canter, sport-oriented model, technique and scope. From the first crop of Sambucci de Muze, Street Sense VDL Z (out of Nena Roos VDL ster by Zirocco Blue VDL, breeder/owner VDL Stud) impressed with his athletic ability and excellent jump. In addition, two sons of Emerald van ’t Ruytershof returned for the premium presentation: the genetically very interesting Elroy Field Z (out of Unicabelle van ’t Roosakker Z by Uricas van de Kattevennen, breeder Family Koerhuis from Dalfsen), owned by VDL Stud, who shows an excellent canter, plenty of balance, technique and jump finish; and Excelsior Key SR Z (out of Toulusha Key SR Z by Toulon), bred by Josje and Erik Sleutels and owned by Stoeterij Turfhorst, who combines a well-developed, athletic model with plenty of jumping talent, scope and a performance-rich pedigree.
