High-quality stallions presented in the new crop
Twelve stallions approved in 2025 were just presented by their own riders in a small course. Among them was last year’s champion stallion, Sixth Sense HBC.
It was a pleasant reunion with five five-year-old and seven four-year-old jumping stallions during the presentation. Commentary was provided by stallion selection committee members Eric van der Vleuten and Wout-Jan van der Schans.
Quality and potential
In groups of three, the stallions jumped a small course twice. The committee members explained how the stallions developed during last year’s performance test and the progress they have made since then. Several stallions made a very strong impression, including Sixth Sense HBC (v. Mattias), who showed great power, an excellent jump-off and good overview under Max van de Pol. Other stallions such as the five-year-old Ravello van de Hagenhorst (v. Dourkhan Hero Z), who jumped with plenty of body use under Marco Sas, and the very high-quality Sunrise VDL (v. Landino VDL) under Cristel Kalf, also stood out positively. Eric van der Vleuten commented: “We saw a group of very nice stallions, all of whom are pleasant to ride, have a good canter and jump with great ease. These are certainly stallions we expect to see competing at a high level in the future.”
