In the Blom Stallion Competition class Z, On and On MB (by Baltic VDL) lived up to his favourite status under Rob Heijligers. After two victories in the series, he secured the overall title.

A total of nine stallions competed in the highest class of this final edition of the Blom Stallion Competition. Four of them were in contention for the overall standings, while the remaining stallions aimed for victory in the day competition.

Overall victory for On and On MB
Jarno van Erp had a clear goal in mind with Oslo (Côte de Zélande Delta Mossel Z out of Kelvira elite IBOP-spr D-OC by Chaman), bred by Mark van Heel and co-registered by Joop van Uytert. As Oslo had only competed in the Hengstencompetitie leg in IJsselmuiden, he was not eligible for the overall standings, making victory in the day competition the main objective. “Oslo is developing very well. He has plenty of blood, is sharp and very careful. As the fences get bigger, those qualities really come into their own. I only really push him one or two times a year, including today here in Den Bosch. It’s great that it resulted in a win in the day competition,” said Van Erp enthusiastically. After a faultless round in the day competition, Rob Heijligers knew he did not need to take unnecessary risks to secure the overall title for On and On MB (Baltic VDL out of Koosje de Roblesse ster sport-spr by Harley VDL), bred by Mirjam Bierings.
“On and On is a very clever horse. I really went for it with him in Peelbergen and Groningen to win. Once I knew that Onassis TN could no longer overtake us, I didn’t push all the way in the jump-off. I’m very happy that he has won this title; it’s also a great result for his proud breeder and owner,” Rob explained.

Second place
Willem Greve rode the highly athletic Grandorado TN son Onassis TN (out of Hella stb D-OC by Quasimodo van de Molendreef), owned by Team Nijhof, Melvin Greveling and Ryanstar, for the first time. This resulted in a solid round, but an unfortunate mistake in the final line meant they finished second in the overall standings, just ahead of Tattoo H&DB TN (Parfait van het Schaeck out of O’Mega H&DB by Kannan), who jumped double clear today under Fabiënne Lichtenvoort Cats.
