No fewer than nine dressage stallions returned for the presentation of the premium stallions, powered by Pavo. The Glock’s Toto Jr. son Tony Gold was crowned champion.

Of the nine premium stallions, seven were presented and individually explained by the stallion selection committee, after which they were honoured in the presence of their breeders and registered owners.

Very complete
The championship decision came down to two stallions that were clearly evenly matched: Vamos Junior (Vitalis out of Hot Shot by Hotline, breeder Noortje Radstake from Voorst) owned by J. van Geet from Jenišovice, and Tony Gold (Glock’s Toto Jr. out of Aweih by Apache, co-breeder Bettina Hinnemann from Alpen) owned by Rhenania Pferde from Essen. “With these two stallions, everything comes together: conformation, movement and pedigree,” said Bart Bax just before announcing Tony Gold as the highest-scoring stallion. “Tony Gold shows a lot of blood, youth and a strong, athletic body. He is able to switch exceptionally well in his movement, moves with great balance and leg technique, and is also genetically very interesting.” Tony Gold is, for example, a grandson of the highly successful Grand Prix mare Weihegold, ridden by Isabell Werth. Reserve champion Vamos Junior also impressed strongly. “He is a full brother to the top dressage horse Vamos Amigos and combines an eye-catching model with a very elegant way of moving, showing plenty of balance and a good foreleg technique.”

Premium stallions
Also awarded premiums were Toledo STH (Opoque out of L’Unique STH elite EPTM-dres sport-dres PROK by Boston STH, breeders Lens and Berna Nekeman), noted for his great ability to collect and extend; Thanks A Million (Desperado out of Santana van Hof Olympia elite sport-dres pref prest PROK D-OC by Sandro Hit, breeder Rebecca Dudley), who impressed with expression and suppleness, owned by co-registrants Yvon Kaptein and MT-Stables; and Treasure King (Kingston Blue Hors out of Miss Universe elite IBOP-dres sport-dres pref PROK D-OC by Franklin, breeder Quality Stables, co-registrant MG Elite Stables), who stood out for his leg technique. Premiums were also awarded to the uphill-moving Ti Sento (Kjento out of Fieni elite sport-dres PROK by Krack C, breeder H. Wouters from Chaam) of Van Baalen Horses; the supple and technically strong Trinellowaard (Extreme U.S. out of Irish Waard elite IBOP-dres PROK by Florencio, breeder Luuk van Rijn, co-registrant Stal Leeuwenhof); the powerfully built and moving Très Beau (Kyton out of Havanta elite IBOP-dres PROK D-OC by Fürst Romancier, breeders C.H.G. and L.G.M. Hoogers) of Trainingsstal Witte Scholtens and Stal Rom Vermunt; and finally the athletic and supple Taeke (O’Frederic out of Nova-Liz elite IBOP-dres D-OC by Everdale), bred by Van Olst Horses. Breeders of KWPN-registered stallions received breeder premiums presented by the Friends of the KWPN.
