All six presented stallions approved
The final presentation brought the desired result for all participating stallions. As a result, five jumper stallions and one dressage stallion have been added to the KWPN stallion studbook.
This spring performance test did not feature large numbers this year, but it did produce some interesting new stallions.
Four-year-olds
Three four-year-old and two six-year-old jumper stallions were entered. The Chacco-Blue son Sky Fall (out of Aquamarine Mail ster sport-spr by Diamant de Semilly, breeders/owners Wout-Jan van der Schans and Jana Khayat from Dedemsvaart/Highclere) comes from the line of the Olympic stallion Jaguar Mail and stood out for his good rideability, use of the body, and athletic ability.
Bred from the Sina line, Santiago VDL (Eldorado van de Zeshoek out of Erina ster pref prest PROK by Kashmir van Schuttershof, breeders Pieter and Bart Henstra) from VDL Stud was named reserve champion last year and showed good progress during this spring test. He stands out for his great carefulness, good scope, and uncomplicated character.
The third four-year-old stallion is the Pegase van ’t Ruytershof son Symphograaf (out of Edelgravin by Vigaro, breeder Peter Maat from Balkbrug) from Stal Broek in Zuidwolde. He is a grandson of the Grand Prix and World Cup–winning mare Kroon Gravin, ridden by Molly Ashe. This stallion has a good canter, has become lighter on his feet, is comfortable to ride, and jumps with scope while giving his rider a good feeling.
Older stallions
A great jumping talent also appears to be the six-year-old Holsteiner Unions Way (United Way out of Imagine CM by Casall, breeder Ute Carstensen-Möller from Langstedt) from Stal Horn. He has a cooperative and hardworking character, jumps with plenty of push from the ground, is careful, and stands out for his excellent reflexes.
The also six-year-old Panthero van de Watermolen (Latif VS out of Cancari by Cancara, breeders Levent Dutkun and J. Mulder from Gaanderen) from Jan Greve has also been approved. This promising stallion is a half-brother to the top showjumping horse EIC Julius Caesar. He was also praised for his willingness to work and jumps with good use of the body and a clear overview of the fence.
Las Vegas son
The only dressage stallion, Sir Vegas (Las Vegas out of Jardoniro D-OC by De Niro, breeder Frans Vaessen from Weert) from Joop van Uytert also received the green light.
“This generously developed stallion has a good attitude and showed clear progress. He walks with good scope, trots lightly, and can easily adjust in the canter,” explained chairman Bart Bax.
The full reports will be available soon in the KWPN stallion database.
