Twelve talented jumper stallions obtain license
The final presentation for jumper stallions produced twelve approved stallions. Jan and Willem Greve’s On the Spot (s.Diamant de Semilly) received 88,5 points.
The stallion selection committee, composed of chairman Cor Loeffen, Wout-Jan van der Schans and Eric van der Vleuten, approved eight three-year-old stallions and four four-year-old stallions today.
Today’s highlights were two four-year-old stallions. The final score turned out to be a neck and neck race between top scorer On The Spot (Diamant de Semilly out of Kathelien W keur IBOP-spr by Cornet Obolensky) of breeders Jan and Willem Greve of Haaksbergen/Markelo and the Baltic VDL-son Boston VDL (out of Jeune Dame VDL ster by Zirocco Blue VDL) of VDL Stud. Receiving nines for the canter, reflexes, scope, rideability, and perspective as a jumper horse, the genetic gem On The Spot obtained 88,5 points in total. Boston VDL was on his heels with a score of 87,5 points, being awarded nines for his canter, scope, rideability, and perspective as a jumper horse. “I have experienced many performance tests already, but I have to admit that these two stallions tempt me to get back in the saddle again. Both stallions are very comfortable to ride and demonstrate abundant talent as a jumper horse”, explains Cor Loeffen. The four-year-old Hermantico-son Ormantico (out of Dark Princess elite EPTM-spr PROK by Chin Chin, bred by A.M. Reuzenaar of Schaijk) of Herman Seiger was also registered with a solid score. This light-footed stallion jumped with a very good technique to obtain 83,5 points.
Among the three-year-old stallions, the premium stallion Popino-Larus, now renamed to Prophet (Gaspahr out of Tina-Laris stb prest PROK by Voltaire, bred by Jan Hoppenbrouwers of Weert) that was sold in the KWPN Select Sale to Parco Sport Horses Est. of Schaan, jumped to the top score of 86 points. Receiving a 9 for the canter and 8,5s for all other jumper aspects he accumulated an outstanding list of marks. Another strong result – 82 points – came from the premium stallion Power of Zsazsa (Kannan Jr. out of Zsa Zsa elite IBOP-spr sport-spr pref prest PROK by Sam R) of breeder Carin Huisman-Holst of Mookhoek and co-registered to family Kramer of Oud-Beijerland and Sjaak van der Lei of Sint-Michielsgestel. Nine out of twelve stallions obtained a 80+ score, which signals the high quality this performance test.
