On Saturday August 12, the Pavo Cup finals in Ermelo are concluded in an exciting fashion through a masterclass of none other than Tineke Bartels and Daniel Bachmann Andersen. Dressage enthusiasts that are keen to learn more about the correct way of going must not miss this, as the interaction between these two professionals promises to be sensational.

Daniel Bachmann Andersen, the Danish top rider that is known for his sympathetic presentation, is this year’s guest rider in the Pavo Cup for four-, five-, and six-year-old horses. After his test rides, dressage expert Tineke Bartels, backed by four Olympic Games and many decades of top sport, will interview Daniel about the Pavo Cup, the assessment of young horses and his experiences.

Discussion

After the prize giving ceremony of the Pavo Cup, the programme continues with two interesting groups of horses. Bartels and Bachmann Andersen will discuss their views when they are presented with a group of young horses. This is followed by a second group of horses that compete at Big Tour level. Harmony is the main theme of this masterclass.

Harmony: more than a buzzword

The concept of harmony has long been incorporated in the FEI regulations, but the focus on harmony has been on the rise in recent years. In doing so, the concept is more than a so-called buzzword and is gaining an increasingly important position in the debate on the future of equestrianism. Yet, harmony remains a subject of debate. What exactly is harmony and how do you achieve it? In this masterclass, Daniel and Tineke discuss the training methods they believe to contribute to a harmonious presentation as well as the role a correct conformation plays in the matter.
