Gelder mare Pippa-Baringa charges to win
Nine three-year-old mares representing the breeding direction Gelder Horse made their appearance in the ring in Ermelo. All stunning horses true to the authentic Gelder type and moving with that distinctive expression and technique.
The jury was comprised of Marloes van der Velden, Arie Hamoen and Luuk Smetsers. The first provided the commentary: “A beautiful collection of which breeders and owners may be very proud. It is clear each horse was well-prepared. And yet, we can only pick one winner; the same mare that triumphed at the National Day of the Gelder Horse, Pippa-Baringa. A typical Gelder mare that is gifted with size, height and an imposing forehand. She showed us abundant suppleness in movement and impressed every stride!” Pippa-Baringa is a daughter of Lloyd and was bred out of the renowned preferent elite mare Baringa (s.Vitens). She is bred and owned by E. Klompenhouwer of Putten.
“The runner-up, Purdey, proved to be well-matched. Another beautiful mare with a striking forehand and strong trot. She also showed us a good walk, always retaining a good posture”, says Marloes. The black mare is bred by C. Lacet of Beneden-Leeuwen and is registered in the name of Gerrit te Bokkel of Eerbeek. She is sired by Ibsen B and bred out of the preliminary keur mare Wilma van Selleen.
