Menoor tops strong group of six-year-old horses
Ridden by Oda Charlotte Lyngvaer, the Lector van den Bisschop-daughter Menoor soared to the title in the KWPN Championship in Exloo.
17 combinations advanced to the jump-off in this final and that resulted in a thrilling denouement. The second part of the jump-off, the sharp turn to the last line, proved to be an eliminating factor. Six combinations kept their slate clean.
Hommage to the breeder
Oda Charlotte Lyngvaer of Stal Hendrix kept the zero in the quickest time aboard the athletic and scopey Menoor (Lector van den Bisschop out of Enoor Blue elite IBOP-spr D-OC by Mr.Blue, bred by Joop van Loon of Beek). Sadly, the breeder is no longer with us to experience this incredible achievement. “It is tragic, I am certain he would have been incredibly proud. I bought Menoor last year as quite green five-year-old and she has developed very well since then”, shares Paul Hendrix. “Another noteworthy fact is that Menoor is part of the collection of the Dutch Sport Horse Sales auction in September. It’s amazing to have a champion in the auction.” Team Nijhof followed in hot pursuit with their distinctive Grandorado TN-offspring Mojo TN (out of Zoëwie stb-ext D-OC by Lupicor, bred by P. Kiggen). Ridden by Kars Bonhof this gelding exuded power and scope as he jumped to the second fastest clear. Representing Stal Keizersberg, Johan Klein Zieverink piloted the cooperative grey mare Madora Keizersberg (Scotch on Ice Z out of Isadora by Numero Uno, bred and owned by Jos van Deurzen of Stal Keizersberg) in a rapid time to the third place. The KWPN-approved stallion McAllistar VDL (Inaico VDL out of Zoklahoma VDL ster pref prest by Emilion) grabbed the fourth position with Wesley de Boer, thereby securing the third breeders cheque – presented by Friends of the KWPN – for VDL Stud. He was the best stallion in this age category.
