Those who attended the KWPN Championships for Young Jumper Horses in Exloo or watched the livestream from home, must have spotted the six-year-old Maximus Quantum Leap under Angelique Hoorn. The Carrera VDL-daughter claimed a top-10 placing in the final and is one of the successful young horses whose first public appearance was at the KWPN Online Foal Auctions. 

Maximus Quantum Leap is not the only successful Carera VDL-offspring that was sold in the KWPN Online Foal Auctions. Mister Coconut (s.Carrera VDL), bred by Stal Verbakel, garnered attention at a young age, too. The stallion, sold to France at three years of age, became national champion at Grand Semaine as a four-year-old and won the CSIYH1* class in Vilamoura at the beginning of 2023. And what about the notable achievements of Melita (s.Carrera VDL). In 2021 she placed fifth in the Blom Cup final for four-year-old jumper horses and at the end of last year she claimed a third position in the CSIYH1* of Praha, Velka Chuchle (Czechia). A strong result for Melita and rider Emma Augier de Moussac that was preceded by wins in the same class at both CSI Wuustwezel (Belgium) and Royan (France) and a third position at CSI Kronenberg. 

Solid results for six-year-old horses

Mister-Go (s.Cornet Obolensky), a resident of Ireland, is another reference currently performing at international level. During the Sunshine Tour in Vejer de la Frontera, the gelding made a winning debut in the CSIYH* class for six-year-olds. Matrix v/d Brownstables (s.Glenfiddich) also obtained strong results in the CSIs. In the hands of Polish rider Michal Ziebicki, he claimed several top-10 placings at five years of age and more recently he produced solid rounds in Samorin, Arezzo and Riesenbeck. Marit H.M. (s.Inaico VDL) and Ma Belle (s.Il Est Balou) shine bright in the CSIYH* courses, too.
