WC Lanaken: Falaise de Muze's daughter finishes in an impressive fifth place
The Irish riders dominated the World Championship for five-year-olds in Lanaken. With a strong fifth place, Bernardo Ladeira provided tough competition with his well-bred Falaise de Muze daughter, Noblesse.
With six Irish riders in the horse jump-off, the chance of an all-Irish podium was real. And so it happened. Michael Pender secured the gold with HHS Ocala, a son of Urano de Cartigny.
Quality and attitude
After a fourth-place finish in Exloo, Bernardo Ladeira made another strong showing at the World Championship. With Noblesse, bred by M. Hageman from Dalfsen (Falaise de Muze out of Celrita VDL, elite IBOP-spr PROK by Corland), which he purchased as a young horse at the VSN auction, the Portuguese rider made no mistakes in this championship. "My girlfriend Lisa Klopman rides for the Siemerink brothers Joost and Thom, and that's where Noblesse was first started under saddle. Lisa began riding her and earlier this year I came to the Netherlands and took over the reins. She is an incredibly nice, high-quality mare. She is intelligent, not spooky at all and works wonderfully. I don't know if I can keep her for the future, and I am very happy with the result here at the World Championship" the rider said. Another striking KWPN jumper finished ninth with a small mistake: Nero, a son of Cornet Obolensky (out of Kantuscha by Cantus, breeder G. van de Winkel), known for his athletic ability and use of his body was ridden by Alexa Stais and owned by Paul Schockemöhle.
