After the KWPN-approved stallion Stargos VDL won all qualifying competitions and the final last year, this season marks his second victory. He triumphed in the Z/ZZ class of the Blom Stallion Competition.

With apparent ease, Hessel Hoekstra, affiliated with the stable of Erik Wiefferink, guided the KWPN-approved stallion Stargos VDL (Stakkato Gold out of Estella sport-spr by Conthargos, breeder W. Winkeler from Herzlake) to his second consecutive win in the Blom Stallion Competition in Vragender.

Invincible
Out of the 16 participants in the Z/ZZ class, nine qualified for the jump-off, where Louis Koninckx had set up another challenging course. Two of them competed at the 1.35m level, including the second-placed Comme le Coeur (by Comme Il Faut) ridden by Lennard de Boer, and seven at the 1.30m level. Despite Maikel van der Vleuten having two entries in the jump-off and being the first and last participant, nothing is guaranteed when Hessel Hoekstra and Stargos VDL secure their spot. This proved to be the case again today in Vragender. The VDL Stud stallion jumped with dedication, quick reflexes, and playful ease to the fastest fault-free result. Just like in the first competition in Peelbergen, the duo proved to be a class above the competition. Once again, Lennard de Boer with Herman Seiger's competitive chestnut stallion Comme Le Coeur provided the strongest competition, finishing second.

Small differences
With the KWPN-approved Horizontal (Casall out of Mel d’Argences by Quick Star, bred by Tops Horse Trading from Valkenswaard), Maikel van der Vleuten sped to the third position. He rode almost the same time as with the 1.35m-level jumping KWPN-approved stallion Kentucky TMS Z (Kannan out of Elite van Prinseveld by Toulon, bred by Tal Milstein from Asse), but still had to concede to two other pairs with that stallion. The competition was close in the jump-off, and ultimately, the fourth prize went to the NRPS-approved and KWPN-selected stallion Bokito van de Woestenheide (Brantzau VDL out of Ima J ster by Dexter R, bred by Danny Schaper from Ommen), making his stallion competition debut under Britt Schaper. In total, seven pairs remained fault-free in the jump-off.
