With three stallions in the top five, the VDL Stud showcased its dominance in the M class of the Blom Stallion Competition in Vragender. The victor, New Pleasure VDL, ridden by Hessel Hoekstra, successfully repeated their success.

After securing the win in the Z/ZZ class with Stargos VDL, Hessel Hoekstra claimed another victory with his second contender from the VDL Stud. Similar to the performance in Kronenberg, the KWPN-approved stallion New Pleasure VDL (sired by For Pleasure out of Lady-A ter Putte by Diamant de Semilly, bred by Familie De Maertelaere/Stal Van de Zuidakker) emerged as the winner in the M class.

Fast and careful
The competition was fierce in the second round of the Blom Stallion Competition. Thirteen duos qualified for the jump-off in the M class, with ten of them delivering faultless performances. Two stallions from the VDL Stud challenged each other: Night Life VDL (Erco van ’t Roosakker out of Ialba VDL elite IBOP-spr PROK by Arezzo VDL), ridden by Alex Gill, set a very quick time, only to be surpassed by New Pleasure VDL in the end. Under Hessel Hoekstra, the chestnut stallion demonstrated excellent cooperation, tight turns, and maintained good form over the jumps. Night Life VDL also showcased speed without sacrificing accuracy, securing them the second position. The agile and cautious Newmarket VM (Chacoon Blue out of Nouvelle Star Z by Numero Uno, bred by Paul van Montfort from Maria-Hoop), ridden by Kars Bonhof, claimed the third spot as the third KWPN-approved stallion in a row on the podium. They narrowly edged out the eager Horse Victory’s Dutch Diarado (by Diarado) under Joost Martens and Baltic VDL's son Norton VDL (out of Wyrusa H ster pref prest PROK by Corland, bred by Anne Jan Hazenberg from Opende) under Tibo Hendrickx. New Pleasure VDL, Night Life VDL, Norton VDL, and Dutch Diarado also secured top-five positions in Kronenberg.
