Stallion Competition Ermelo: Odin repeats success in KWPN Stallion Competition Gelders Horse
Edmundo-son Odin already won the first pre-selection of the KWPN Stallion Competition Gelder Horse last month, and today he again achieved the highest score in this breeding direction. The stallion scored 84.4 points in the L class. Mexpression (s.Expression) won the Z class with 82.6 points.
Marian Dorresteijn and Arie Hamoen, presenting Odin (Edmundo out of Buonaternel elite pref sport-dres IBOP PROK by Vitens, bred by M.H. Zwaneveld and P.E.M. Herweijer from Assen), awarded the horse four times with a score of 8.5. "This horse is well-focused on the rider, uses his body well, and is therefore also beautiful in the contact," Marian begins enthusiastically. "The walk is active with a nice extension in the neck and a good overstep. In trot, this horse is very energetic and stands out with his front end. He has a beautiful use of the foreleg with a lot of knee and shoulder freedom. In canter, we saw beautiful extensions that were ridden very nicely toward the hand. It was a very beautiful test to watch."
Mexpression
Under Dennis Ausma, Mexpression (Expression out of Colinda ster PROK by Koss, bred by H.A. Bruil from Terborg) performed his first Stallion Competition of the season today. "This was also a very pleasant test to watch with a lot of calmness and relaxation, yet expression. The front end of this horse stands out, where he beautifully accepts the contact throughout the test. The walk is good through the body and nice from the foreleg, but could be a bit more active for an even higher score. In trot, this stallion is very consistent, and his suppleness stands out. He has a beautiful leg technique and moves very easily in the lateral movements. The canter has a good jump and nice shoulder freedom, and the extensions were very well presented. If this easily workable horse comes even more into self-carriage, the scores could go up."
Driving
In the driving test in the Z class, Eebert-son Matiz (Eebert out of Honey ster PROK by Vitens, bred by G.H. Hofs from Varsseveld) scored 77.6 points. Arie Hamoen was assisted by Jaap Boom in this category. "The ring is quite small for this test, so it is challenging for this very workable horse," Jaap explains. "The walk is active with sufficient space. In trot, we would have liked to see a bit more extension today; the canter is nicely carried."
