At the Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage in Kronenberg, Merlot VDL already won the class Z/ZZ-L. Today, the stallion repeated this success, this time with a score of 86.2. Under the saddle of Femke de Laat, the Bordeaux son stood out with tremendous harmony, earning a score of 9 for this aspect.

Marian Dorresteijn and Sven Rothenberger judged this competition. In addition to a score of 9 for harmony, they awarded a score of 8.8 for both the trot and the potential of Merlot VDL (Bordeaux out of Hyacinth-Vrouwe ster PROK D-OC by Florencio, bred by Fam. Klinkhamer from Sleen). "This was a very beautiful opening of this class," praises Marian the stallion, who was the first to enter the arena. "This stallion stands out particularly for his elegance. He has a beautiful front end, is light-footed, has a fine contact, and responds well to aids. Additionally, he showed a lot of potential to shift weight onto the hindquarters. The walk is pure, and in the collected walk, we also saw good use of the body. In the extended walk, he could remain slightly more active. The trot is light-footed with a beautiful mechanism in the legs. In canter, he is likewise light-footed, the changes are neat and responsive, showing that this horse is skillful in his body."

Talented Hexagon's Gorgeous Black Art
GLOCK’s Toto Jr son Hexagon’s Gorgeous Black Art (out of Beauty Vienna D by Rubiquil, bred by K. Visser from Alteveer), ridden by Beni Pachl, came closest to Merlot VDL's score. This stallion demonstrated a lot of potential for the more demanding exercises and scored 82.0 points. The changes and pirouettes were shown with remarkable ease. Under Alvaro Rodriguez Siscar, the light-footed and elegant Franklin’s Love (Franklin out of Sanrubina by Sandro Hit) scored 77.8 points. This impressive horse is approved in Germany.
