On the first day of the KWPN Stallion Show, 28 jumping stallions received an invitation for the performance test. Sons of Caribis Z and Aganix du Seigneur are allowed to return tomorrow as premium stallions.

Out of a total of 57 evaluated stallions, the stallion inspection committee consisting of Wout-Jan van der Schans, Eric van der Vleuten, and Bart Henstra, granted invitations to half of them (28) for the performance test. Top sires Aganix du Seigneur, Zirocco Blue VDL, Diamant de Semilly, Chacco-Blue, and from its first year, Lambada Shake AG, each had two sons selected.

Attitude and suppleness
Chairman Wout-Jan van der Schans looks back with a positive feeling for various reasons on the first day. "Overall, the stallions did not disappoint us. Very positively, we have seen a considerable number of well-bred stallions that also impressed during free jumping. We were able to select based on the attitude and suppleness of the horses, especially since the last oxer is a bit wider, providing us with a lot of information. If the stallions handle that easily, it is positive. In addition, we were able to invite some stallions from mothers who have themselves performed in international sports for the performance test; this number increases every year, and that is also a very positive development." This year, the results were announced directly in the second viewing without the stallions being presented by hand. "Therefore, as a committee, we prepared extra well by reviewing all videos of the selected stallions in the first viewing again yesterday. As a committee, we have worked very well together and made good selections. Overall, we can observe that we are getting more blood in the horses, without compromising on athletic ability, so that is very positive. These qualities are crucial for the sport. Today, we assessed many sons of proven sires and also some from young stallions. It is positive that we have been able to invite both sons from the first year of Lambada Shake AG for the performance test. We look forward to tomorrow when we expect four more groups of stallions, including several descended from young stallions."

Premium stallions
Tomorrow at 08:00 AM, the continuation of the second viewing is scheduled. Around 12:35 PM, the presentation of the premium jumping stallions will take place, for which Always Remember Jack VDL Z (by Aganix du Seigneur) and Caribou van de Dassenheide (by Caribis Z) were invited today.
