On the first day of the KWPN Stallion Show, two stallions were invited as premium stallions, and today, four more were added. They, along with their breeders and owners, were honored this afternoon in Den Bosch.

In the presentation of the premium jumping stallions powered by Van Santvoort, six stallions returned to be extensively explained and honored. The stallion inspection committee praised these stallions for their strong combination of type, way of cantering, jumping, and performance-rich pedigree. "We are dealing with six very complete, modern stallions who have made a good impression on all fronts," said committee chairman Wout-Jan van der Schans.

Complete premium stallions
The VDL Stud had two premium stallions in hand: the highly athletic and bred from a strong lineage Aganix du Seigneur son, Always Remember Jack VDL Z (out of the Grand Prix mare Derly Chin de Muze sport-jumping by For Pleasure). He impressed with his good canter, impulsion, overview, and commitment in free jumping. VDL's second asset in the premium selection is the Landino VDL son, Raikkonen LK (out of K.Amelusiena elite IBOP-jumping D-OC by Zirocco Blue VDL), bred by the Klinkhamer family from Sleen. He made a big impression with his blood-made model, easy canter, and athletic ability. Again, a stallion bred from a strong sport lineage that thrived at Stal Roelofs. Also, receiving a premium was Caribou van de Dassenheide, a Caribis Z son (out of Shakira de Kreisker by Diamant de Semilly, breeders N. and J. Adams-Goossens) owned by A. de Boer from De Wijk.

Impressed
This stallion, bred from the full sister of the Olympic stallion Quickly de Kreisker, shows a lot of blood, jumps with a lot of overview and ease, and has an athletic model. The Mattias son, R (out of Annelita C elite IBOP-jumping pref prest PROK by Guidam), bred by Reinie Tewis and Sonja Vlaar's daughters Lynn and Rose Tewis, was also honored as a premium stallion. This stallion from the first crop of the recently sold stallion Mattias impressed in both Ermelo and Den Bosch with his performance in free jumping. He built up very positively as it got higher and possesses a lot of athletic ability. Ringo Starr, measuring 1.76m (O’Neill van ’t Eigenlo out of Elijanta stb PROK by Numero Uno, breeder Frans van Boxtel from Volkel) owned by Egbert Schep, also returned as a premium stallion. This modern, blood-made stallion stood out with his light-footed canter in which he can shift remarkably easily, especially for such a large horse.

Athletic stallion
On the jump, he impressed with his good technique and body use. The sixth premium stallion is the United Touch S son, Ramazotti van de Watermolen (out of Jedoselli W ster by Dakar VDL), bred by the breeder of the year Jan Greve. He goes back to the Grand Prix mare Oselli (by Carthago) in the third generation on the dam's side. Again, a very well-cantering, blood-showing, and athletic stallion. He jumps with very good reflexes and finishes the jump well behind. "We have been able to award premiums to six stallions who have shown consistent performances and visibly enjoy jumping. That offers good hope for the future," said Van der Schans.
