He was the only one that stayed clear in all selections and he managed to do the same in the final, making it impossible for Boston VDL to miss out on the win. Victory in the day's final went to Etoulon VDL son Overbuur under Kees Greve.

Eighteen stallions appeared in the in the final of the Blom Stallion Competition Class L, thirteen competed in the final ranking of the competition. Oosterbuur (Etoulon VDL out of Coletta by Cornado I, breeder A. Baumann of Rees) proved to be in the best shape tonight and managed to win the regular competition.

Learned a lot
’Yes this was a great round, he competed really well, and that with this audience and atmosphere… He is a very nice and careful horse. And he showed that tonight. According to Greve, the stallion has learned a lot in the competition. "In the beginning he was still a bit green, and now the last two competitions with a little help from my brother, he has learned a lot," he said. His brother is none other than Willem Greve. "Yes, he had some tips anyway. Surely I can learn a few things from him," laughs Greve. "We mainly practised on control.’’

Greatest honour
Competition winner became Boston VDL (Baltic VDL out of Jeune Dame VDL star by Zirocco Blue VDL) bred by VDL Stud from Bears and ridden by Cristel Kalf. The duo stayed clear in all courses, and today there was a fourth place in the competition. Willem Greve and On The Spot (Diamant de Semilly out of Kathelien W keur IBOP-spr by Cornet Obolensky, breeder and owner Jan and Willem Greve) finished second in the competition, with only 1 time fault over all competitions. In the day competition, there was fifth place. Third in the competition were O'Conner TN (Ogano Sitte out of Gilana by Acord II, breeder Eder from Osterhofen) and Kars Bonhof. With the fastest time in the jump-off, but with one pole down, they finished eighth today.
