Blom Stallion Competition Jumping and Anemone Horse Trucks Stallion Competition Dressage

The stallion competitions are unique opportunities for breeders and other interested parties to see young, approved KWPN stallions in action. The competitions aim to provide insight into the stallions’ abilities. The 2025/2026 season includes three competitions per breeding direction, as well as a final during the KWPN Stallion Show in ’s-Hertogenbosch.

Stallion Competition Obligations

When a stallion is approved as a three-year-old, participation in the stallion competition at the ages of four and five is a mandatory condition. For stallions approved at an older age, this requirement applies to the current season and the immediately following year.

Participation

Only KWPN-approved stallions that have participated in all three competitions are eligible to compete in the finals. An exception applies to KWPN-approved stallions born in 2018 that, as part of their approval process, have already fulfilled the obligation to participate twice in the stallion competition. These stallions may participate in the final of the Blom Stallion Competition Jumping in class Z for day prizes only.

KWPN-approved jumping stallions born in 2017 that have participated for two years in the full KWPN stallion competition may participate in the KWPN Stallion Competition Jumping in class ZZ for day prizes only. Stallions participating under this arrangement will not be included in the overall competition standings.
