Performance Ermelo 1993 (short test, 19 days)
Obedient and honest. He was very willing to work during the light chores set him. The walk is sufficient. The trot is short with moderate tact. The canter is carried sufficiently and has sufficient scope. He shows good leg technique in jumping. He shows moderate use of the back. He gives his rider a moderate feeling.
Stall behavior is normal.

Supplement (from the 1993 advice keuring)
This stallion is a son of the well-known jumper sire Abgar xx, the sire of numerous international jumpers. The dam line is known as the Banta-line from H. Kuyer, in which talent for sport is strongly anchored. This is also proven by the predicates of the mother and grandmother, who respectively are * PA prest and M PA prest (M = model). The grandmother is also the mother of the international jumper stallion (Olympic) Treffer. Abantos was approved by the NRPS in 1983. As a 7-year old he was registered with the NKB as a Z jumper with 5 winning points. Thereafter he competed successfully in 1.30 and 1.40 m classes. Next he was exported to Italy. In the Netherlands he produced 31 offspring, under which the international jumper Abbeyville (La Silla). Seventeen of the other offspring have known sport results, varying from an IBOP to performance at international level.
At the request of the then owner, his offspring were evaluated in 1987. The result was negative. Several of the mares bred by the stallions were only of moderate quality and from very different backgrounds. In 1992 offspring were again evaluated, nine in total. This time the offspring were well-developed, hard blood horses with a sufficiently good model. The movements were elastic with much scope.
The combination of pedigree, own sport results, offspring sport results and a favorable evaluation of the offspring that were shown made the stallion committee decide to accredit this stallion.

Offspring 1994 (foals)
Because of the sport results of his offspring, this stallion was accepted into the KWPN breeding program at later age. He also needed to show a group of foals.
The collection of foals that was shown varied from insufficient to sufficient in development. The type is barely sufficient to sufficient. Some of the foals - especially among the picked group - were short legged. The selected foals showed clearly more refinement and uniformity.
The head is long and shows little expression. The neck is almost always deep from the chest. The length varies from sufficient to good. The group of selected foals carries the neck better in movement. The wither is sufficiently long and developed. The shoulder is sufficient in length and is often a bit straight. Sometimes it lacks length. The picked foals often had a rather hollow back that of the selected foals was better. The loin formation was moderate in muscling and should be better connected. The croup is sufficiently to well formed but generally lacks length and is also a little round. The foreleg is correct but is often tied-in below the knee. The hindleg is often a little long and sometimes has a small angle.
The walk should show more scope and suppleness. The foals show ease in the trot but lack power and impulsion. The hindleg should come under the body more. In a few cases the trot lacks regularity.
In general the mares with the foals seemed quite plain.
The veterinary remarks pertain to the fact that some of the picked foals were cow-hocked and that one of the foals had a serious overbite.

In short: varying collection of moderately developed foals that were of barely sufficient riding type and that lacked power from behind at the trot.
