Performance test report

Conformation: 
Gringo is a more than sufficiently developed stallion with good rectangular-shaped conformation and a downhill body direction. The head is sufficiently attractive. The poll has sufficient length with a heavy head-neck connection. The neck has good length, shape, and muscling. The wither has more than sufficient to good development and good length. The shoulder has more than sufficient length but is slightly straight. The back has good length and sufficient muscling. The loins are long, more than sufficiently muscled, and well connected. The croup has good placement with sufficient length and muscling. The line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock should be longer. The front leg is correct. The hind legs are correct but positioned somewhat behind the mass. The pasterns have more than sufficient length but are slightly straight. The legs are well developed and of good quality. The hooves are small with more than sufficient to good quality and well-developed heels. 

Lineage: 
This year, Gringo won the Isah Cup, the KWPN championship for four-year-old jumpers. His sire is Catoki (Cambridge x Silvester), who was a Bundeschampionat finalist at ages five and six and later became a successful Grand Prix-level jumper under riders including Emil Hallundbaek (DEN) and Philipp Weishaupt (GER). 

Gringo's dam-line originated in Holstein but flourished at Stal Roelofs in Den Ham. His dam D.Zarah R7 is a ster PROK mare by Tolan R. Gringo's granddam T Zarah 18 (s.Germus R) produced a 1.50m horse by Ruberth R and a 1.30m jumper / Z1-level dressage horse by Mermus R; and Gringo's great-granddam Zarah (s.Rebel I Z) is the dam of several good jumpers as well as the KWPN stallions Zahros R and Rash R, the sire of horses including Jeroen Dubbeldam's Zenith SFN. The dam-line continues with daughters by Mephisto, Landgraf I and Ganeff. 

Performance Test Report: 
Gringo is an honest and reliable stallion with a good disposition. He is more than sufficiently willing to work, has good trainability, and a good mouth. The walk has more than sufficient scope and elasticity. The trot has more than sufficient push, scope, and elasticity. The canter is light-footed with very good balance and sufficient scope but is somewhat on the forehand. The stallion changes leads easily. Gringo moves with more than sufficient body position. He jumps with more than sufficient to good push but needs to show more resolution at the obstacle. The stallion sometimes jumps with a slightly open front leg, shows good bascule, and finishes the jump well behind. He appears to have abundant scope. Gringo demonstrates abundant talent as a jumper and gives his rider a more than sufficient to good feeling. 

Stable Behavior: 
Gringo is an honest and reliable stallion. He is easy on the ground and quiet in his stall.

No peculiarities noted.

Expected fertility class: good.

Gringo can add good form and rideability to jumper breeding.

Dam Report: 
D.Zarah R 7 is a very well-developed mare with obvious rectangular-shaped conformation. 
The head is sufficiently attractive. 
The poll has sufficient length with a good head-neck connection. 
The neck has good shape and length with sufficient muscling.
The wither is well developed and has good length. 
The shoulder has good length and sufficient placement. 
The back is slightly weak but has good muscling. 
The loins have strong muscling and are well connected. 
The croup has normal placement, good length, and sufficient muscling. 
The line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock is short. 
The front legs are slightly toed-in when viewed from the front but correct when viewed from the side. 
The hind leg is straight with weak pasterns. 
The front pasterns are long and correct. 
The hooves show sufficient development and quality, with well-developed heels. 
The legs are well developed and of good quality. 
The walk has good scope and elasticity. 
The trot has good scope with sufficient body position and a hind leg that steps sufficiently under the body. 
The canter has sufficient power and scope, with carriage and good body position. 
In 2011, D.Zarah R 7 earned the following scores in the EPTM test: 
walk: 7, trot: 7, carriage & balance: 7, canter: 7.5, reflexes: 8, form: 7.5, scope: 8, attitude: 8, rideability & trainability: 7.5, talent for jumping 7.5. Total: 77 points.
