Performance test report

Exterior:
Night Shadow is a sufficiently developed, attractive stallion who stands sufficiently in the rectangular model. The head is very attractive, with a large eye. The neck is of good length with a light head-neck connection. The neck is well shaped, sufficiently long, and well muscled. The shoulder is of good length and position. The withers are well developed and extend well into the back. The back is sufficiently long and well muscled. The loins are well connected, of good length, and well muscled. The croup is of good length, position, and muscling. The thigh muscle is sufficiently long. The foreleg is correctly positioned in profile, but slightly under-set. The hind leg is slightly cow-hocked. The pasterns front and back are of good length and well positioned. The foundation is well developed and of hard quality. The feet are sufficiently developed, sufficiently shaped, and of good quality. The heels are appropriately developed.

Pedigree:
Night Shadow is the first KWPN-approved son of Guardian S, the Bodyguard Moorland son who is currently being trained for a top-level sport career. The dam of Night Shadow is the elite IBOP mare Gatika, a daughter of the keur stallion Florencio. This dam line with many predicates continues with the elite preferent performance mare Tikita. This daughter of keur stallion Havidoff is also the dam of the premium stallion Next Level (by Jarville). Tikita produced, among others, the ZZ-Licht horse Forlante (by Florencio) and Z-classified horses by Westenwind and Dream Boy. She also serves as the granddam of multiple Z-level dressage horses. Great-granddam Nikita (by Highline) is a preferent keur mare who competed at ZZ-Zwaar level in dressage. Nikita is the dam of the international Intermediaire I horse Forlan 7 (by Jazz) and a Z2-level dressage horse by Wynton.

Performance report:
Night Shadow is an honest and energetic stallion with a good to very good attitude. The stallion has a great willingness to work and is easy to very easy to handle. The walk is pure and sufficiently spacious. The walk could show more use of the body. The trot has good rhythm, much leg technique, and activity. The canter has good scope and shows lots of jump and impulsion. Night Shadow moves with good suppleness and sufficient to good balance. As a dressage horse, Night Shadow has a lot of potential and gives his rider a good to very good feeling.

Stable behaviour:
Honest, reliable stallion, easy to handle and calm in the stable.

Veterinary report:
During the test, Night Shadow had a mild viral infection. With anti-inflammatories and a few days of rest, the stallion recovered.
The stallion also suffered from a hoof abscess during the test. Due to sensitivity after treatment, the shoeing was adjusted with a sole pad.

Semen report:
Expected fertility class: sufficient.

Night Shadow can improve strength and impulsion and add movement technique to dressage horse breeding.

Dam report:
Gatika is a sufficiently developed dressage mare who stands well in the rectangular model.
The head is expressive.
The neck is of good length with a sufficiently light head-neck connection.
The neck is well shaped, of good length, and sufficiently muscled.
The withers are sufficiently developed and sufficiently long.
The shoulder is sufficiently long and sufficiently well placed.
The back is of good length and well muscled.
The loins are well muscled and well connected.
The croup is sloping, sufficiently long, and well muscled.
The thigh muscle is sufficiently long.
The foreleg is correctly positioned from the front and slightly hollow from the side.
The hind leg is slightly cow-hocked.
The pasterns are of good length and well positioned.
The hooves are slightly underdeveloped and of good quality with good heels.
The foundation is somewhat fine-boned and of good quality.
The walk is sufficiently spacious and has good suppleness.
The trot is spacious with a good posture and a well-stepping/carrying hind leg. The foreleg moves well from the shoulder with good technique.
The canter is powerfully good, with good scope, well carried, and with sufficient posture.

Gatika achieved the following results in the IBOP test in 2016:
Walk 8, Trot 8.5, Canter 7.5, Suppleness 8, Posture and Balance 8, Rideability and Workability 8.5, Talent as a dressage horse 8, Total 80.5 points.
