Conformation description: 

A stallion with sufficient quality and solidness. His build could be slightly better. The mid-section is slightly long. The front legs are not entirely correct. The heels should be better developed, as the feet are slightly flat. The stallion moves with a slight overreach.

Offspring report

Offspring (foals) 1981:

There is a clear difference between the foals with respect to development. Some are sufficiently developed with decent body size, and some have barely sufficient development with inadequate body size. The foals also differ in type. Broadly speaking, the foals by this stallion fall into two types: those with compact conformation and a round croup which needs more length, a short and slightly dropped mid-section, a straight shoulder, and a raised neck; and those with more long-lined conformation which are built more on the forehand, slightly better riding-type with a longer croup, slightly more shoulder, and a longer back. With respect to type, the total collection is somewhat lacking in riding-horse conformation, even though they are dissimilar. Some of the necks are set high and should be built more forward, while others are short and heavy; yet others are fairly long and poorly muscled. The heads are sufficient. Without exception, the shoulders are short, and in several cases, the shoulders need more slope. Shoulders with sufficient length and decent positioning were also observed. The wither repeatedly lacks definition. In general, the line from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock is long. The shape and length of the croup varies according to the two types described above. The croup is consistently sufficiently broad and, in several foals, the croup is cleaved. Front leg stance is good; the knee is especially well developed. Several foals have short hind pasterns, resulting in little pastern suspension in motion. The compact types often show strong bend of the hind leg. Moreover, some foals tend to have a straight hind leg. In the walk, the foals lack scope, regularity, elasticity, and power. With almost no exception, the foals lack shoulder freedom in the trot. Their movement often lacks forward direction. The foals also lack elasticity and most need more thrust from the hindquarters. The mares which accompanied the foals are of such a level that the quality of the foals was not entirely dependent on the genes of the stallion. The pasterns are generally of very moderate quality, although their quality is better in the foals selected by the stallion's registered party. Moreover, the legs should be of better quality overall. In half of the randomly selected foals, an issue was noted in the hock conformation. No such issue was noted in the foals selected by the stallion's registered party. The stallion's type was not paramount in the decision to approve him. The stallion was approved for breeding mainly because of his performance and the performance of his offspring in the sport. Even though the assessment of the stallion's offspring is not entirely favorable, he will be retained for KWPN breeding. Based on the stated considerations, the stallion's current presented offspring will be given an opportunity to develop and prove themselves. Foals shown: 17 out of 71 breedings.
