Performance test report

Performance Ermelo 1985
This stallion is very friendly, attentive, honest and has good humor. He loves to learn. He was still green at the start of the test. He had difficulty bending during the first weeks of the test but became more elastic later on. The rider must make him work; once he does he is nice to ride. The walk is big and not very rhythmic at the start of the test but better later on. The trot has a lot of regularity and tact. The canter is powerful with good use of the hindquarter. He jumps well under saddle, has good technique and much scope. He also shows good technique and scope during the free jumping. He has a good cross-country gallop and he works well. He is very willing to work and the work is easy for him. He has much talent for cross-country, very much talent for dressage and jumping. He was in good condition upon arrival. He received more feed than normal, he became more riding type during the test. He was moved to a stall without a window because he kept hitting the bars in front of the window. Afterwards he was calm in his stall.

Offspring 1987 (foals)
This stallion presented well-developed foals. They are proportioned, have refinement and are sufficient riding type with a hard base. The head is sufficient but could be even more expressive while the jaw could be finer. The neck has good length and good shape. It is nicely connected to the shoulder and runs into a very good poll. The stallion strongly improves on the shape of the neck. The wither could be longer but some of the foals did have sufficient length,. The shoulder has good placement and length. The wither/shoulder transition should be smoother. The midsection is often a little hollow and the transition from the back to the croup should also be stronger. The croup has good shape but should have more slope and length. The foreleg has a good stance with a good knee. The hindleg is also correct with a well-developed hock that sometimes seems a bit coarse. Otherwise the quality of the legs is good: hard and lean. The foals have a good manner of walking, and show good freedom from the shoulder. The foals trot easily but should be stronger behind.

In short: proportioned, sufficient riding type foals with good shape and length of the neck. The trot is easy with much freedom from the shoulder.
