Performance test report
Performance Ermelo 1988Attentive, friendly, obedient, happy and honest with good humor. He was still green at the start of the test. He worked well. He is narrow behind and strikes himself and therefore was ridden with wraps. He has a rather short walk and should have more power. Once in a while he is irregular in the right hind. The trot is sufficiently active but should have more scope. He trots with sufficient regularity. He does good in front of the sled. He is nimble in the driving test and he is nice to drive. He should have more scope in front of the show cart. He has a tendency to go on the forehand too much. His ears are lively. He is more than sufficiently willing to work, loves to go and enjoys the work. He finds work normal. He has more than sufficient talent for harness. He was in good condition upon arrival and remained that way. He ate normally. Stall behavior was calm. His straw was replaced by shavings because his stall was always dirty.

Offspring 1990 (foals)This stallion presented a fairly uniform collection of tuig type foals that seemed a little short-coupled but had refinement and quality. They are tuig type in their presentation. The head is well formed and expressive. The neck is carried well, has sufficient length (the selected foals have good length) but sometimes the onset of the neck is a little heavy. The poll also has good length. The wither is little developed and should be longer. The shoulder has good length and slope. The back is well formed and muscled and the loins are strong. The croup has sufficient length, is wide and muscled. The foreleg is correct and generally sufficiently developed. In a few cases it is a little fine. The hindleg is correct in stance and build. The walk has sufficient suppleness but is a little short. The foals show a good tuig type manner of moving with consistent good use of the hindleg. The foals are appealing. The offspring clearly rise in the forehand. Some foals showed extra style. On the whole the trot should have more scope while the picked foals should show a little more knee action.
In short: fairly uniform collection, tuig type, somewhat short-coupled foals with refinement and quality. The trot - which is usually very appealing - shows great use of the hindleg. The scope of the trot could be more convincing.
