Performance Ermelo 1988
Friendly, obedient, honest stallion with good humor. He was saddle broke at the start of the test. He tends to go too deep and tries to escape. During the first weeks he had a difficult mouth and often pulled up his lips. His mouth improved later on. He holds his hindleg very straight in the walk, which is also rather short. The trot has sufficient scope with nice tact but it should have more power. The canter is big but the stallion stays too high in the croup. While jumping he uses the back sufficiently and the leg technique is more than sufficient. In cross-country his performance is more than sufficient. He is sufficiently willing to work and finds the work easy. He has more than sufficient talent for dressage, jumping and cross-country. He was in good condition upon arrival and got leaner during the test. He ate normally. Stall behavior is normal.

Offspring 1990 (foals)
The stallion showed a collection of foals in which differences on certain characteristics must be pointed out between the picked and the selected groups. The selected foals were better on a number of points. On the whole the foals are well developed. The picked foals were barely sufficient riding type but they still looked a little long legged. He same remark was not true for the selected foals, they were of good riding type. The head has sufficient shape but is often a little long and has little expression. The neck has good length but often seems a little set on. The wither is well developed and long. The shoulder always has good length but often should have more slope. Without exception the back is long and develops into poorly muscled loins. The croup is sufficient in shape and also has sufficient length but the high tail set detracts from it. The same remark could not be made about the selected foals, several of them have a straight stance with a long pastern in front. The hindleg is long and the gaskin poorly muscled. The walk shows sufficient scope but is often stiff because the pastern has little elasticity. The picked foals had a better walk. The trot is generally easy with sufficient scope. The hindleg of the picked foals could come underneath better; the selected foals were better. Several of the picked foals were out of plain mares and the stallion definitely had a positive influence on them.
The veterinary remarks pertain to the hock, which should be finished more tightly on the outside. In one case a foal had one front foot that was higher and straighter than the other. Two foals were lame without any apparent cause.

In short: well developed, sufficient to good riding type foals that trot with ease and scope but whose use of the hindleg could often be stronger.
