Intelligent, friendly, attentive and honest. He had been ridden prior to the start of the test. During the first weeks he was rather tense during the light work that was asked of him. He relaxed more later on. The walk is good. The stallion walks with much tact and the walk has sufficient scope. The trot is often hurried but there are some good moments. The stallion goes with enthusiasm. He has sufficient maneuverability. He is very willing to work. He eats normally.
His stall behavior is good.

This stallion was approved for an experiment in which he is allowed to breed to up to 50 tuigpaard mares per year.

Offspring report

Offspring 1992 (foals)
The experiment with the American Saddlebred stallion produced a collection of well-developed foals of tuig type and that possess refinement and quality. The head is a little long but the stallion actually improved a little on the mares. The same may also be said about the neck. Holland"s Golden Boy is able to deliver a long neck that has good shape to mares that lack shape and length. It is very well carried and goes into a noticeably good poll. The wither is repeatedly short and flat. The shoulder has sufficient length but should have more slope. The back is long; the picked foals appeared to have a somewhat hollow back, this was less so for the selected foals. The loins are well connected. The croup could be a little longer but it does have good shape. The stance of the foreleg is correct, sometimes a little long. The base has sufficient substance and quality. The walk could have more scope. The trot does have sufficient scope, but the tuig type manner of moving is hardly ever there. The foreleg stays flat without the desired knee action. The foals also did not rise in the forehand and the hindleg often lags behind. One foal that was seen at home moved better than the above. On the whole the stallion bred good (sometimes moderate) mares.

Supplemental information
The American Saddlebred stallion Holland"s Golden Boy will remain approved in order to finish the experiment. The number of breedings will remain limited to 50 a year. The stallion was added to the breeding program for new blood and refinement. Based on the foals that were shown it appears that the stallion improves on the neck and also on the shape of the head. The base does not seem to be affected by him. He does not have a negative influence on the shape of the croup. He adds nobility and hardness. The enrichment of the color palette is also a consideration. The foals that were shown did not move like tuig types. However, the offspring must have their chance to be presented in harness.

Disapproved 1996
This stallion, which has already been exported to Germany, has lost his approved status because his offspring fall short both in type and in-hand movement. The new conformation index shows that particularly the back/loin formation (long and weak) leaves something to be desired. At the keuring the offspring showed insufficient knee action and they rose insufficiently in the front.
