A riding type stallion with beautiful lines, much refinement, quality and appeal. The hindleg is somewhat long.



Performance Ermelo 1990

Playful, obedient with an appealing impertinence. He is friendly and honest but has trouble keeping his mind on his work. He likes to show off. He was barely saddle broke at the start of the test. He does not have a good mouth and should move more from the shoulder. He gives his rider a good feeling, especially in the canter. The walk is regular and big. The trot is more than sufficient. The canter has much suppleness. He shows good technique in jumping and he has a quick foreleg. He is rather stiff in cross-country. He is very willing to work and finds it easy. He has more than sufficient talent for dressage and much talent for jumping. He was in good condition upon arrival and remained that way. He was calm in his stall.

Offspring 1992 (foals)
The stallion showed a collection of foals that varied from barely sufficient to sufficient in development. The picked foals were only just sufficient to sufficient. The selected foals were of sufficient riding type. The head is plain, often long and sometimes with a convex profile. The head of the selected foals was clearly more expressive. The neck sometimes is poorly muscled but it is long, shaped well and is carried well during movement. The wither has good length. The shoulder of the picked foals varied in length and was almost always straight. The shoulder position of the selected foals was clearly better. There were no remarks about the back and loins. The croup of the picked foals varied, it was generally sufficient but sometimes it was somewhat flat and short. The selected foals were also obviously better. The foreleg has correct build and stance. The hindleg is often sickle-hocked with a sharp transition from the cannon to the hock, which was sometimes small. Otherwise it appeared that in a number of cases the total base should be more generously developed. The walk is just plain good, it has scope and the hindleg comes underneath well. The trotting mechanism was difficult to evaluate. The foals had their tail over the back and were stiff through the back with their head in the air. Because of this the freedom of the shoulder was very limited in many cases. Some of the foals trotted well.
The mares varied in quality.

Watchlist 2000
Faram was put on the watchlist because of the evaluation of his 7-year old offspring. The offspring sport results were the deciding factor in the decision to put this stallion on the watchlist. With a jumping index of 98 (77%) and a dressage index of 92 (75%) it is clear that the stallion was not able to make a positive contribution to the breeding program.
