Performance test report
Performance Ermelo 1999Kalypso was selected for the performance test in 1995, but did not go due to the quality of his semen. During the past few years he has participated in the competition for the IAN Trophy. In 1997 he took 3rd place in the finals for the 5-year old jumpers. In 1998 he took 9th place in the finals. That same year he was WBFSH world champion for 6-year olds in Lanaken.
Kalypso is an honest, reliable stallion. He is very willing to work and he works well.
The walk is active and has sufficient scope and purity. He does not show much scope in the trot, nor does he carry himself in the trot. The canter shows a great deal of push, and sufficient scope. He can change leads well in the canter. He really makes an effort while jumping. He leaves the ground quickly, but should rise more through the wither. He has a very quick foreleg. His hindleg technique varies. He shows more than sufficient ability and is careful.
Behavior in the stall and during handling is normal.
Veterinary report:
There was a slight cough due to bronchitis during the test. The stallion was medicated for this condition.
The test took place from March 15 - April 3, 1999.
