Marlon is a well-developed stallion with a strong topline and a very well muscled hindquarter. The neck is a little horizontal.
Performance Ermelo 1997
Marlon is an honest, reliable stallion. He is more than willing to work and works well. During the beginning of the test he was tense through the body. This greatly improved while the test went on. The walk is sufficiently powerful and big. In the trot the stallion shows acceptable push and bend. The canter is very big and a little slow, but he does collect sufficiently. Marlon has sufficient talent as a dressage horse and gives his rider a good feeling.
Marlon shows a more than sufficient take-off while jumping, but his withers should be a little higher. The technique of the foreleg is good. He holds his body a little straight over the jump, but he finishes the jump very well. Marlon appears to be careful and seems to have a great deal of capability. He has a great deal of talent as a jumper and gives his rider a good feeling.
Stall and handling behavior are normal.

Offspring 1998The stallion showed a uniform collection of more than sufficient to well developed foals. They are in good rectangular model and show breeding. The head is expressive. The foals have a lot of poll. The length and muscling of the neck, which is a little horizontal, are good. The wither should be better developed. The shoulder has good length and more than sufficient placement. The back and loins have good shape and muscling. The length of the croup is more than sufficient but the shape is a little round and the tail set is a little high. The hamstring is remarkably well developed. In general the foreleg is correct: sometimes a little hollow, sometimes a little over at the knee. The hindleg is generally correct but sometimes a little sickle-hocked. The joints - and the base in general - should be better developed.
The walk is a bit limited in scope. The foals trot with suppleness, scope and with good self-carriage. The foreleg is used well; the hindleg should be brought under the body a bit further. The canter has scope, suppleness and good use of the foreleg, but the foals should push off better. A foal that was inspected at home fit with the rest of the picture.
The mares were of good quality.
