Conformation Description 1999 (March 18 - May 26)
Orion Fortuna is an adequately developed riding type stallion of good rectangular model. The neck is long, but is set a little deep on the chest. The wither should be longer, the loin is well muscled and the croup should be longer. The base has adequate quality.

The sires in the dam line have produced many good jumpers. Kiry Fortuna herself is the dam of 2 colts and 1 filly.

Performance
Orion Fortuna is an honest, reliable stallion. He is very willing to work and works well.
The walk has adequate scope and tact, but should follow through better. He has adequate scope in the trot, but does not carry himself much. He should also have more suppleness. The canter is very big. He does push off well and works well in the canter. Orion Fortuna has adequate aptitude for dressage and gives his rider a passable feeling.
Orion Fortuna pushes off well in the take-off. He rises well through the jump, but divides the jump into two pieces a little. The technique of the foreleg varies and he bascules adequately. He varies in how he finishes the jump. He is very careful and seems to have a great deal of ability. Orion Fortuna has a great deal of aptitude for jumping and gives his rider a good feeling.
Behavior in the stall and during handling is normal.
Veterinary report:
During the first part of the test the stallion had a stubborn skin infection in the hollows of the pasterns. A general bacterial antibiotic brought this under control.

Orion Fortuna showed a variable collection of moderate to sufficiently developed, sufficient riding type foals that stand in sufficient rectangular model.
The head is generally sufficiently expressive and sometimes a little long. The poll generally has good length. The neck has sufficient length but varies in shape. Sometimes there is a ewe neck and moderate muscling. The wither has good length and more than sufficient development. The shoulder has more than sufficient length and sufficient position. The back is repeatedly a little hollow. The loins are more than sufficiently connected. The croup is wide, well muscled and has more than sufficient length, but is frequently a little flat. The hamstring has sufficient length. The stance of the foreleg is correct. The stance of the hindleg is correct. The base is generally well developed and shows quality.
The walk is sufficiently pure and has sufficient scope. The trot has good scope. The trot is characterized by much suppleness and good self carriage. The hindleg is generally used well. The canter has good scope. The foals canter with more than sufficient impulsion and good balance.
Remarks: The foals were presented in moderate condition.
The quality of the mares was moderate.
Shown: 10 foals out of 20 breedings in 2000.
