Conformation:
Ebony is a well-developed stallion with good rectangular-shaped conformation and a slightly downhill body direction. The head is sufficiently attractive. The poll has sufficient length with a heavy head-neck connection. The neck has good length and shape but comes out somewhat deep from the chest. The wither is well developed and has good length. The shoulder has good length and placement. The back has good length and muscling. The loins have good muscling and are well connected. The croup has good placement, length, and muscling. The distance from the point of the hip to the point of the buttock should be longer. The front leg is camped-under and slightly back-at-the-knee when viewed from the side; viewed from the front, the front leg toes-out slightly. The stallion moves narrow behind in the walk in hand. The hind leg is sickle-hocked. The legs are well developed and of more than sufficient quality. The hooves are small with high heels.
Lineage:
Ebony is by Painted Black out of Vanolite (s.Jazz), a studbook mare. Vanolite's dam is the prestatie mare Manolite, a daughter of the preferent stallion Contango. Other Manolite offspring include two full brothers to Vanolite (one Small Tour, the other Z1 dressage) and one full sister to Vanolite, who shows at the Z2 level. Ebony's great-granddam Favorite, a keur mare by Ulft, is also the granddam of the Grand Prix dressage horse Romanoff (s.Jazz), ridden by Vai Bruntink. The dam-line continues with the keur preferent mare Blanche, an Amor daughter. Next comes the ster mare Noblesse Oblige, a daughter of the Talisman xx son Imago, followed by the ster preferent mare Juweel, an Apalatin daughter out of the ster preferent mare Edith (s.Vicomte).

Ebony is an honest and reliable stallion with a good to very good temperament. He is very to extremely willing to work and has good to very good trainability. The walk is pure and has good to very good scope. The trot has good to very good scope with a powerful hind leg which steps well under the body. The canter is powerful with excellent carriage and abundant scope. Ebony moves with abundant elasticity, more than sufficient to excellent body position, and good balance. Ebony has abundant to very abundant talent for dressage and gives his rider a good feeling.
